The 'Airtram' is an aerial tramway operating between Roylen, Ams City and City Island.
The 'Airtram' is a service operated by Ams City Transport Authority, the service has been running since 2000 and is used commonly by people who want to get between Ams City and City Island quickly without using the bus, a car or walking.
A single ticket for an adult on the Airtram is €1.75, tickets for people under 18 are available for €0.80. Each car can hold 20 people and a car will be available at every station, every 2-3 minutes.
The Airtram service stopped in 2002 after two cable cars were damaged after they rammed in to the Ams City station at speed, the service stopped due to safety concerns. In 2003, the service reopened after tighter restrictions were placed on the tram-line.
